KEET ELIGIBLE TO RUN?

By Kermit C. Moss

Mercy me, sakes alive, and carrot coffee!

Jim Keet both qualified and eligible to run for Governor of Arkansas?

I say no, and further that he has not created the jobs in Arkansas that he claims he has! Among other requirements our state law says “and shall have been seven years a resident of this state”. I think that this provision was put into the law to assure us that we would not elect someone who, having been living away, would not be aware of the basic needs of our state.
Let us suppose that a person is born in Arkansas, then at age 8, moves to Florida, and at age 61 returns to Arkansas, would he be eligible? I think not! Further,
the opinion here is that running a restaurant is not sufficient experience to qualify him to be governor! Also, although he got in a good lick or two about Arkansas politicians not paying taxes on the personal use of state owned vehicles, it turned out that he, too, in a number of cases, did not pay his taxes on time, then blamed his wife and others for it!

Further, as this writer has pointed out several times, it is consumption that creates jobs! It is rather simple. If the goods and services offered by producers and distributors are not bought and consumed, they will no longer be produced! So, give credit to the consumers, not Keet!

Vote for Beebe!
